Using it
Status
The words, colours and marks voodoo uses for what a session is doing, and where it learns them.
The same few words on every surface, never themed. In the lists a status is the colour of a session’s dot. In plain output, such as voodoo status, it is a mark in brackets.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Working [⠋] | Mid-turn. Cyan, and the mark spins. It wants nothing from anybody. |
| Needs you [!] | Stopped on a question or a permission prompt. Amber, and it blinks. Amber is the only colour that means “come here”. |
| Finished [✓] | Done with its turn. Green until you have looked at it, which is what “unread” counts. |
| Ready [·] | Nothing asked of it yet. Every shell, always. |
| Exited [×] | Its process ended. The pane says exited, with the code if it wasn’t zero, or killed. r restarts it. |
| Lost [○] | The daemon restarted while it was running, and its process went with the old daemon. r restarts it. |
The order of the list
Most urgent first: needs you, then finished and unread, then working, then ready. Finished outranks working on purpose. A finished agent has something to be read, and a working one wants nothing. A project’s own dot shows the most urgent thing beneath it.
Where it comes from
From Claude Code’s own hooks, not from reading its screen. Nothing polls, and nothing is written into your project to get it.
